Illustration Friday theme: Ferocious

if ferocious2

This is my take on the Illustration Friday theme, Ferocious. Here we have an angry goose, in front of a cafe that sells chicken. He has a ferocious dislike of anyone who eats poultry - and he is making it known to all who dare to enter the cafe!

Illustration Friday theme: Mesmerizing

if mesmerizing

This is my posting for the Illustration Friday theme, Mesmerizing. The baby crossing the road has suddenly become mesmerized by something up in the sky.

Illustration Friday theme: Boundaries

if boundaries

This is my entry for the Illustration Friday theme, Boundaries. We demarcate physical boundaries, but there is also the boundary between conscious and subconscious thoughts (or real life and dreams). That is a concept that is more difficult to represent in visual terms. I tried to create a visual boundary between the foreground illustration and background painting; using a "relief" technique, or shadows and light. With this method, I hoped to emphasize the dream going on in the minds of the woman, child, and figure with the magic wand. People also maintain arbitrary boundaries, or hierarchies, between artistic genres such as children's illustration, photorealism painting, street art, etc.
